In preparation for the 2025 Lunar New Year, ancient peach trees from Son La mountains have been transported to Hanoi, with prices ranging from tens of millions to hundreds of millions of dong.
As the Lunar New Year 2025 approaches, on many streets in Hanoi, flowers and ornamental plants are displayed for sale to meet people's shopping needs. In particular, in Long Bien district, hundreds of ancient peach trees were transported by traders to Nguyen Van Linh street.
According to records, many trees are about 3-5m tall, including the pot. There are many buds and flowers on the branches. On average, these trees are 30 years old or more.
Peach trees from the Northwest are often more expensive than those from Nhat Tan (Hanoi). When playing with peach trees, people will play with the roots, not just the buds and flowers. The bigger and rougher the tree trunk, the more expensive it is.
Mr. Nguyen, a trader, said that while last year the peach blossom market was bustling and vibrant from the beginning of December, this year the atmosphere is somewhat quieter.
“Although the transaction is not really active, the price of ancient peach trees this year will definitely be more expensive than last year. Peach trees here cost from 50-200 million VND. Some trees have been reserved by people. Besides, a large number of trees are rented by people to play Tet," said Mr. Nguyen.
According to some traders, transporting ancient peach trees from Son La to Hanoi requires a lot of effort and therefore the cost is very high. Because each large truck can only carry one tree, each time it is taken from the truck, sand must be added to plant it in the pot.
Wild peach blossoms are also quite different with thick petals and a faded pink color. The peach trees for sale are predicted to start blooming in just a few days and will be in full bloom by Tet.
Most of the ancient peach trees have rough trunks and moss-covered roots, bringing a wild beauty.
Notably, the ancient peach branches are naturally curved but very eye-catching.
Ancient peach trees attract many locals and tourists to visit.
Wild peach blossoms promise to be a special choice for those who love uniqueness and luxury during the New Year.
